PS5 Console Cover Plates Will Appear in 2022

Sony announced people will finally get PS5 faceplates, as official console cover plates will launch in 2022. There will be five color variants total. However, they won’t all appear at once. Depending on the color and region, you might have to wait a little longer. In addition, there will also be Galactic Purple, Nova Pink, and Starlight Blue DualSense controllers to match them.

First, the two initial PS5 colors for faceplates will be Cosmic Red and Midnight Black. These match the existing DualSense controllers available. They’ll be out in almost every region in Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania in January 2022. The confirmed France, Germany, UK, and US PlayStation Direct early access date is January 21, 2022. Other stores won’t get them until February 18, 2022.

However, the second batch of three PS5 console cover plates will take a bit longer to appear. Those are the Blue, Pink, and Purple variants. They’ll show up in either Q1 or Q2 2022. As for their matching controllers, Sony didn’t offer launch windows for the Blue or Pink ones. However, the Purple one will be at PlayStation Direct on January 14, 2022 in France, Germany, the UK, and US. It will show up in other stores on February 11, 2022.

Here’s a video looking closer at all of them.

Sony will begin selling its PS5 console cover plates (aka faceplates) in January 2022.
