People are gradually finding a new way to potentially play PlayStation 5 games. It’s by streaming them on their PlayStation 4 via a PS5 Remote Play app. Over the last few hours, as reported by sites like Press Start and Video Game Chronicle, the application will show up in a person’s PS4 menu.
The PS5 Remote Play PS4 app appears to be rolling out by region. I tested with my own system to trigger the appearance. Japan seems to be the only region that has it showing up. As I have no access to a PS5, I was unable to test it out. However, Video Game Chronicle does and noted that it isn’t operational yet.
This is yet another step toward preparing for the system’s launch this week and one of the PS5 Remote Play updates we’ve seen appear in the last month. Sony recently changed the name of its mobile apps to PS Remote Play and added support for the new console to all of them. People were event able to look at custom controls and things like HDR support.
The PlayStation 5 will launch on November 12, 2020 in Australia, Japan, North America, and South Korea. It will appear everywhere else on November 19, 2020.
