Sega announced a Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Vers.2 (PSO2: New Genesis V2) crossover collaboration with Don Quijote. The event will begin in November 2026. It’s confirmed for in-game, but it is unknown if this will also carry over to actual merchandise that will be sold in the stores.
Currently, there isn’t a lot of information about the collaboration. We just know that accessories and build parts that resemble the Don Quijote mascots, Donpen and Donko, will appear in PSO2: New Genesis V2. So far, we know these build parts include items like acrylic stands.
Don Quijote is a well-known Japanese chain that sells a wide variety of items—from clothes to appliances to food to anime merchandise—at discounted prices. There are over 540 stores in Japan alone. Don Quijote’s parent company, Pan Pacific International Holdings, also recently acquired the Toys R Us locations in Japan. This is also not the first time that Don Quijote had a collaboration with Phantasy Star Online. It released shirts (that came with item codes for in-game rewards) based on the game in 2022.
PSO2: New Genesis is an online game that came out in 2012. Version 2 is an updated version that came out in June 2023. It’s available to play in English as well.
PSO2: New Genesis V2 is readily available on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Windows PC via Steam.
