Square-Enix announced that the PSP remake of Final Fantasy 1, Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary Collection is coming out on April 19, 2007 for 3,990 yen ($33). The PSP remake is based on the Game Boy Advance remake, Final Fantasy I&II: Dawn of Souls, but you don’t get Final Fantasy II. Instead that is going to be sold separately in May 2007. Compared to the GBA release, the PSP 20th Anniversary edition has higher resolution graphics and the FMV movies from Final Fantasy Origins. It also has all of the gameplay tweaks like MP instead of spell numbers and the additional Soul of Chaos dungeon. Since these two PSP games are coming out so early it’s possible that the Gamestop release dates aren’t too far from the truth.
