Nintendo will add new SNES, NES, Super Famicom, and Famicom titles to its online services in a February Nintendo Switch Online update. Continuing its trend of unexpected titles, the February Nintendo Switch Online update will include plenty of obscure games. North America will get Psycho Dream, Doomsday Warrior, and Prehistorik Man on the SNES. As for the single NES game, the service will add Fire ‘n Ice, also known as Solomon’s Key 2. One of the highlights here is Psycho Dream, a forgotten gem of an action platformer with imaginative visuals and a sci-fi concept. It only appeared in Japan prior to its inclusion here.

Here’s the video from Nintendo showcasing the North American additions.

The February Nintendo Switch Online update to the Japanese app will be quite different. The Super Famicom will get Psycho Dream too, but subscribers will also receive Shin Megami Tensei II and Mario’s Super Picross. The Famicom title will be the same as North America’s update: Solomon’s Key 2. The Super Famicom highlight is certainly Shin Megami Tensei II. The newly added title is the second game in the Megami Tensei series on the Japanese app.

Here’s Nintendo’s video showcasing the Japanese additions.

Lastly, Nintendo uploaded a separate video in Japanese with secrets and cheats. If players follow the steps, they can easily access the stage select menu in Psycho Dream and fuse demons together more efficiently in Shin Megami Tensei II. Additionally, there are hidden puzzles in Mario’s Super Picross and secret challenges in Solomon’s Key 2.

Here’s the video, which should be easy enough for non-Japanese speakers to follow along with, thanks to the visuals.

The upcoming February Nintendo Switch Online update will go live on February 17, 2021. As a reminder, the previous update in December added games like Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble and The Ignition Factor.
