Puchi Eva migrates from cute toys to a DS game

Just when it seems like Gainax couldn’t milk the Evangelion franchise anymore they came up with Puchi Eva Evangelion@School. The project stars super deformed Shinji and emphasizes his time at school instead of angel slaying. On March 20, 2008 the cuter version of Eva arrives on the Nintendo DS care of Namco Bandai who decided Puchi Eva is best as a touch screen adventure game. Tapping the screen to solve everyday puzzles is far from what I imagine when I think of an Evangelion game. No matter how many cute toys come out of Japan Evangelion remains a depressing, overly emotional story in my mind.
