Puyo Puyo Chronicle’s Screenshots Show A First Look At The Upcoming Puzzle RPG

Sega recently announced Puyo Puyo Chronicle, their upcoming puzzle RPG game for Nintendo 3DS in celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary. Here’s a look at its first screenshots from Famitsu.   As previously detailed, the game’s story features Arle and her partner Carbuncle who get sucked into an alternate world. She must then work with a mysterious girl named Arie in order to return to their world.     Puyo Puyo Chronicle’s RPG Mode will have you create teams of three in order to fight enemies. Similar to the traditional Puyo Puyo games, battles involve attacking by erasing Puyos and launching Ojama Puyos to the enemies. In addition to its main story, the game boasts over 60 sub-quests.   In addition to the RPG Mode, the game also features traditional Puyo Puyo game play with 17 different rules. Local connectivity has a mode that allows you to party with up to four players to take on a boss using the fighting method from RPG Mode.   Puyo Puyo Chronicle releases in Japan on December 8, 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
