Puzzle & Dragons Z, the 3DS version of GungHo Online Entertainment’s hit social game, will be seeing more RPG elements added to the game. As previously reported, there will be towns and dungeons to explore. GungHo also introduced male and female protagonists, along with some info on monster evolution.

You’ll have a choice between the male and female Dragon Tamers at the start of Puzzle & Dragons Z. Their goal is to become the Dragon Master by taking on as many dungeons they can, befriending dragons and leveling them up. They also seem to have some sort of device attached on their left arms, which GungHo will be revealing in the near future.

Eggs are one of the rewards you get from finishing battles. They can then be hatched into various types of dragons that also come in different rarities.

In addition to the eggs, you can also get Monster Chips in the form of puzzle pieces, as battle rewards. As shown in the above image, they can be used as synthesis material to power up your dragons.

You can complete the puzzles by meeting the requirements of the type of Monster Chips needed for each monster. Doing so will allow your monster to evolve into a much stronger form. Evolving your Dragons and collecting eggs will play a big role in your Puzzle & Dragons Z adventures. Catch ‘em all to become the Dragon Master!

Puzzle & Dragons Z is slated to be released this Winter in Japan for Nintendo 3DS. GungHo Online Entertainment have plans to release the game in the West as well.
