Quick hands on Devil May Cry 4, Xbox 360 style

This article is over 17 years old and may contain outdated information

I played Devil May Cry 4 a handful of times on the PlayStation 3, yesterday was the first time I tried it on the Xbox 360. In the ten minute demo I was given a chance to try Nero out and run through a level. Nero controls pretty much like Dante. He can knock an enemy into the air with an upwards sword swipe, blast it with his gun, slices the creature in mid-air while looking cool. Really cool. Graphically, as cool as the PlayStation 3 version. Nero’s special powers come in the form of his Devil Bringer arm, which he uses to grab enemies and slam them to the ground. Nero also gains a power, which allows him to jump further by throwing himself from a glowing orb.

Besides swinging from platforms and collecting eerie looking red orbs I spent most of the time defending myself against monsters with guillotine appendages (arms and legs). Let me rephrase that, stylishly fending off monsters with a wired Xbox 360 controller. Considering this genre is new relatively new territory for the Xbox brand it will be interesting to see if 360 owners dig it when it comes out on February 5 in North America.
