At this point you either love Dynasty Warriors (aka Shin Sangoku Musou) or you’re sick of it. It seems like a few people at GDC are in the former category since the single playable build of Warriors Orochi was usually occupied. Luckily, I got a chance to squeeze some time to play it and it’s just like (low resolution) Dynasty Warriors Warriors Orochi.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing considering how the DS versions deviate from the core franchise and previous PSP installments were riddled with slowdown. Warriors Orochi is actually pretty fluid. The price for this upgrade is smaller character models, which is a fair tradeoff. I doubt a portable version of Warriors Orochi is going to change anyone’s mind about the Warriors/Musou franchise. However, fans hooked on knocking back dozens of Yellow Turbans by swinging a giant hammer will enjoy this scaled down version of Koei’s PlayStation 2 game.
