Ragnarok Odyssey takes after Monster Hunter and at launch it will have ad-hoc play. Afterwards, it will have online play. During an interview with Famitsu, Kazuhiro Irie from Game Arts revealed they will release a patch that adds online multiplayer. A date for the patch has not been announced, but they want to release it as soon as possible.

Game Arts plans on supporting the game with other downloadable content like time attack events too. Right now, Ragnarok Odyssey has only been announced for Japan.
