We regularly see Razer Pokemon items that takes certain staples from the company and decks them out in designs tied to certain characters and a new Eevee and Pikachu collection is the latest in the line. It also means a familiar roster. A Cobra wired mouse, Gigantus V2 medium mouse pad, Kraken V4 X wired headset, and Ornata V3 Tenkeyless keyboard all appear this time around. And as usual, it’s all pretty well-tailored to both characters, with the keyboard as a standout showing how the color choices, art, and design come together.
One thing to get into straightaway is that the Razer Pokemon collection of Eevee and Pikachu merchandise is building on the established Cobra wired mouse, Gigantus V2 medium mouse pad, Kraken V4 X wired headset, and Ornata V3 Tenkeyless keyboard. The level of quality is the same. The features are the same. So the headset is going to support consoles, computers, and other devices so long as you can plug its USB-A/USB-C plug into it. (It comes with an adapter.) It’ll have 7.1 surround sound with triforce 40 MM drivers and include the retractable cardioid mic. Both the mouse and keyboard support Chroma RGB effects, work with PCs, and have USB-A wired cables attached. The mouse has 8500 DPI and gen-3 optical switches, while the keyboard has Mecha-Membrane switches like others in the line. I’ve only been using them for a few days as of time of writing, but previously used and still use the Cinnamoroll items in this same line and found they’ve been both durable and useful over the last nine months.
Admittedly, I haven’t really been using the Eevee and Pikachu edition Razer Gigantus V2 mouse pad as, well, a “traditional” mouse pad. Instead, I’ve been using it as a general purpose protective pad on my coffee table and for Switch 2 mouse mode games. The rubber foam base keeps it from slipping around on the table. It’s a good surface that’s smooth for my recent dabbling in The Mermaid Mask and when I popped back in to Pokemon Pokopia to set up a habitat for Jirachi after that event. And I like being able to put my console controllers, phone, and iPad down on a protected surface instead of placing them on the regular table that everything’s been touching.
So, once again, a major question here is how well the aesthetics of this Razer Pokemon collection suit the characters and ambiance. Admittedly, I’m the target audience here. I adore both characters. The design feels very playful and true to the two of them. Two pieces of art are prevalent throughout. One features the two cuddled up together as they nap among yellow flowers. The posing is quite lovely for that, and I appreciate how it is centered on the magnetic wrist rest. Given Pikachu is taking up less “space” due to the position, I could see it being difficult to get things arranged right. But it’s flawless execution and perfectly posed. The fact the keyboard also has the walking Eevee and giggling Pikachu on the keyboard itself is also a great touch, since it means all the official art for this crossover is present in a very visible and recognizable way. The space bar outlines are equally cute. And the pink background is a good neutral color that complements the design of both characters on every accessory.
While the Razer Kraken V4 X Eevee and Pikachu headset doesn’t feature both of the official Pokemon designs for the collaboration, I am a big fan of the other choices. The Razer logo on the outsides of the earcups looks good and subtle since it’s a more subtle outline. It lets the more colorful napping characters pop. This piece is also fun because it features the “secret” designs of both characters inside the fabric over the speakers. Eevee is hiding inside the left one, while Pikachu is on the right. It’s, again, a little detail that sparked joy for me.
Basically, the Eevee and Pikachu Razer Pokemon collection seems like another opportunity to get a Kraken V4 X headset, Cobra mouse, and Ornata V3 Tenkeyless keyboard in fun designs. All of them look colorful, with color schemes that match both characters. I especially like the keyboard this time around, simply because of how much art appears on it. But they’re all lovely and even a bit cozy due to the design choices.
