Rebuild of Evangelion New Rei Figure Arrives in 2024

A new figure of Rei Ayanami from the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series is now available for pre-order. The figure costs 19,800 JPY (or approximately $141), and its scheduled release date in Japan is set as September 2024. The figure is now available for pre-order from the AmiAmi online store and the Evangelion Store. AmiAmi ships outside of Japan. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!] Hobby Japan will release the new 1/6 scale figure, and it is a collaboration effort between Amakuni and figure company AmiAmi. The figure is based on Rei’s appearance from the earlier Rebuild of Evangelion movies. In it, she’s wearing her iconic white plugsuit. In later Rebuild of Evangelion movies, Rei uses a black plugsuit. In Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0, she gets more redesigns as well as part of the story, although her new appearances could be considered spoilers. Other Amakuni and Hobby Japan figures include the figure of Tae Takemi, the doctor confidant from Persona 5, which received a re-release back in April 2023.
