Last week, Rockstar Games teased a new Red Dead Redemption game. On October 28, 2016, it officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Today, the first trailer for the game has appeared, showing off some environments we’ll explore and a brief glimpse of some people who may prove to be quite important.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer offers a look at forests, farms, a train with a herd of buffalo running alongside it, and two men traveling in a canoe along a river. From there, it transitions into a town, letting us see Worth’s General Store and a man getting on his horse in a barn. The only narration comes in at the 44 second mark and suggests our character could be involved in something dangerous and would need to run for his life at some point. While the trailer doesn’t show it, the video’s description hints at an experience akin to Grand Theft Auto V’s Grand Theft Auto Online. It says, “The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”
Red Dead Redemption 2 will come to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in fall 2017. Pre-orders are already available through Rockstar Warehouse and GameStop.
