We’ll get reasons to return to Resident Evil Requiem in the future, as Capcom confirmed the team is working on “story expansion” DLC. It took to social media to share a statement from Director Koshi Nakanishi. While there’s no release window for the add-on yet, in the next few months patches will add new features like a minigame and photo mode to the most recent entry in the series

Nakanishi’s statement started with thanks to people for buying the latest entry. This is because the game passed over five million copies sold before it’d been even available for a month. He also pointed out that while the latest patches worked on bug fixes, future ones will bring new content to the game. While the Resident Evil Requiem “story expansion” DLC is something that’s further off, he specifically cited photo mode and a minigame as arriving sooner. May 2026 was mentioned around the same time as that latter surprise. This means we could see the photo mode appear sooner.

The expansion isn’t the only thing we don’t have a release date for yet. There are also amiibo of both Leon S Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft planned. Those are expected to arrive in Summer 2026. There’s no exact release date yet.

Resident Evil Requiem is available for the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC worldwide, and the story expansion DLC is in development.
