Some people are probably aware of Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland, an unconventional RPG starring The Legend of Zelda’s Tingle, due to it being released in both Japan and Europe. However, Tingle actually starred in a second major commercial release. Ripened Tingle’s Balloon Trip of Love also appeared on the Nintendo DS. Now, over four years after a fan translation project began, it has been completed.
Ripened Tingle’s Balloon Trip of Love is an adventure game. Tingle is sucked into a book and finds himself working alongside a scarecrow, tin woman, and lion as he attempts to find his way through the story and develop a relationship with one of five girls in the game. While it is an adventure game with dating sim elements, there is also a dungeon minigame.
Ripened Tingle’s Balloon Trip of Love was originally released on the Nintendo DS in Japan in 2009. The fan translation group’s next project is Tingle’s Balloon Fight DS.
