Rise from the grave… Golden Axe?

Sega announced Secret Level was working on a Golden Axe game at E3 last year. This year it wasn’t anywhere to be found, but it’s still in development. The next generation rebirth made the cover of Play Magazine and it’s got a fancy new subtitle too, “Beast Rider”.

While I enjoyed the original Golden Axe games as a kid, the gameplay is far from timeless. Secret Level can’t get away with sticking to the same formula. They have to add something besides running 3D graphics. Otherwise we’ll end up with a more glitzy version of the horrid Sega Ages Golden Axe remake.
