Square Enix’s free-to-play smartphone and PlayStation title, Rise of Mana, is shutting down services on March 31, 2016 the company announced.

We’ve seen plenty of collaborations for the free-to-play title, which even included one with Final Fantasy Tactics characters appear as guests, but producer Masaru Oyamada stated that there hasn’t been a proper balance in development and capital for the game, nor did the company feel that they could continue providing content that can satisfy its users.

For these reasons, Square Enix decided to announce that they’re ending services for Rise of Mana come March 31st; however, Oyamada stated that Rise of Mana is ending as a F2P title, but they’ll look into finding ways to bring it back in another form.

Rise of Mana launched back in March 6, 2014 for iOS and later for Android on June 26, 2014.
