Rise Of The Tomb Raider Footage Shows Giant Geothermal Valley

Rise of the Tomb Raider made an appearance during Microsoft’s Gamescom 2015 press conference this morning. Crystal Dynamics’ Brian Horton, the Game Director, appeared on stage to guide viewers through new footage of Lara Croft on her search to find out if immortality can be attained before a group known as Trinity does.

 

The geothermal valley, an area three times larger than any found in prior Tomb Raider games, is showcased in the footage. A peek at the new Base Camp is shown, with Skills, Inventory, Weapons, and Fast Travel options displayed.

 

The Brawler, Hunter, and Survivor skill groups are briefly appear, with the Hunter’s Arrow Retrieval, Breath Control, Scavenger, Animal Instincts, and Finesse abilities confirmed. The video ends with Lara sneaking up on members of Trinity as she swims through a pond during a storm, then finishes off the group by sneaking around their forest hut.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a Xbox One exclusive and will be released November 10 in North America and November 13 in Europe.
