Rocket Slime Returns! Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3 Coming To 3DS

One of the charming, perhaps overlooked Nintendo DS games from 2006 is a little title called Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. In this top down action-adventure game, you help Rocket rescue the slime-napped inhabitants of Boingburg by stretching out to pick up objects. For a little blue slime, Rocket could carry quite a few objects, three if I recall correctly, which he could toss as weapons.

Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime also had tank battles where Rocket grabbed weapons and threw them into cannons. The tank on tank action was displayed on the upper screen while players moved Rocket inside the tank on the bottom. The best strategy was often putting Rocket into the cannon and destroying the enemy’s tank from within by slime stretching next to control panels.

Details are scarce, but since the title mentions pirates it sounds like players will have sea battles. Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3 is an action adventure game and also has multiplayer support for up to four players. Square Enix also added internet and streetpass features to the game plus stereoscopic 3D graphics. Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3 is slated for a winter release this year in Japan.
