The Root Letter sequel won’t remain trapped in Japan. Root Film will be coming to North America and Europe too, with PQube handling its localization. It will appear on both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in both regions.
As mentioned in our earlier report, Root Film follows people in the movie industry trying to reboot the Shimane Mystery Drama Project TV show that was mysteriously canceled. Except when filming is about to kick off, a murder halts everything. While scouting, director Rintaro Yagumo and his crew realize there has been a murder. People will have to use Intuition to find keywords for investigations and confront people in Max Mode to make breakthroughs. You’ll also be able to use Zapping to see what two characters were going through at once.
Here is the Root Film localization announcement trailer. It introduces its concept and introduces Rintaro, Riho, Aine Magari, Hitoha Amakata, Kyoichi Kanada, Mie Aoto, and Ayane Kotoshiro.
Root Film will come to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe, though a release window has not yet been announced. It will come to both systems in Japan in Spring 2020.
