The monsters of Firstborn cannot be killed with mortal weapons, but that doesn’t mean those weapons can’t knock them into pits, cave-ins, or other environmental hazards that will take them out.
In Firstborn’s turn-based combat, players will be able to position themselves and attack their enemies with a variety of abilities, using them to shove or direct their enemies into the path of dangers. They can also use them to bait enemies into following them into deadly areas, having to use their heads against these otherwise-invincible foes.
The longer their heroes survive, the more powers, health, and abilities they will gain over time. Monsters will continue to get stronger and more cunning over time, though, so players will need to take care as they progress through the story. They can take a detour to gain even more powerful tools by exploring optional dungeons, but these may only bring even further dangers.
Firstborn is slated for release in late 2017/early 2018.
