An loyal Siliconera reader sent in a tip that just seemed too good to be true. High Def Digest claimed that the home release of Resident Evil: Extinction would come with two video game demos.

Additional supplements shared with the standard-def DVD version of the film (which is debuting day-and-date with the Blu-ray) include an audio commentary with director Paul W.S. Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt, four making-of featurettes, eleven deleted scenes, and two video game demos (for "Devil May Cry 4" and "Resident Evil 5").

Playable demos with a DVD movie? Something sounds fishy about that. Perhaps they meant two video game trailers? I checked in with Capcom who informed me that is exactly the case. You don’t get to try Resident Evil 5 by purchasing Resident Evil: Extinction, but you do get a taste of the game through a trailer. The same goes for Devil May Cry 4.

< Spencer's note: Yeah, we originally debunked this three days ago on November 13th, but I'm bumping the post up because it's news now. Capcom also brought this up on their blog.>
