Rune Factory 3 Special Karina Romance Guide

Karina is a bachelorette you’ll likely encounter early on in Rune Factory 3 Special. She helps to run the General Store that her mother Hazel owns, or more accurately she naps at the counter. This sleepy store assistant has big dreams of heading out to the city though, and her relationship quest involves helping her to become more independent.

Where Do You Find Karina in Rune Factory 3 Special?

Put simply, Karina is usually fast asleep in the General Store, though you’ll find her wandering around making deliveries if Hazel is on the counter. She will also turn up at your field every day at 5pm to collect the contents of the shipment box, so you can approach her easily then too.

Her date spot of choice is the Flower Field in Privera Forest.

What Gifts Do You Give Karina in Rune Factory 3 Special?

Karina is a girl of expensive tastes, as her favorite gifts are gems. Almost any gem will do, so if you’re in need of gifts for her, head out and do some mining until something shiny pops out. You can also turn these gems into jewelery for her, which she loves even more. I’d recommend Rings, as these only require one gem, a Crafting Table, and a Crafting skill of 15.

Be careful though. Do not give her Diamonds or anything made from Diamonds. She hates them and will hate you for giving them to her.

How Do You Trigger Heart Events with Karina in Rune Factory 3 Special?

  • 1 Heart: “Bring Me…” Bulletin Board Request. Karina will ask you to speak to Sofia. Do so, and she will give you the Strange Pendant, which you need to deliver back to Karina.
  • 2 Hearts: “Come Here a Sec” Mailbox request. Karina wants to talk to Evelyn. Seek her out and bring her back to Karina.
  • 3 Hearts: “Help Me” Bulletin Board request. Karina will ask you some questions about dungeons. Depending on your choices, she’ll ask for a different item. If you tell her Oranges or Grapes grow in Privera, she’ll ask for these. If you tell her about fishing, she’ll ask for a Masu Trout. If you mention foraging, she’ll ask for a Mushroom. Head to Privera and collect what she needs (or Sol Terrano for Oranges) then bring them back to her.
  • 4 Hearts: “Wanna Go” Mailbox request. Karina wants you to take her to a dungeon, so head to Privera Forest. Demonstrate how mining works for her, then pick an apple and give it to her. You’ll be warped back to the general store after some story scenes.
  • 5 Hearts: “Need a Favor” Mailbox request. For some reason, Karina wants to catch a cold. Marian is the best person to turn to for this, so head to the apothecary. She will ask you for Yellow Grass, Purple Grass, Grapes and Rice. The grasses can be found in your field, rice can be bought from the General Store and grapes can be found growing in Oddward Valley.
  • 6 Hearts: “Come Quick!” Mailbox request. You’ll need to grab this one early, as it needs to be completed by 6:00 pm. Karina wants your help, so take her into the store, and she’ll ask you to collect some goods from Raven. Do so, then return to the store. After a story scene, you’ll need to run around town asking people to come to the store, until Micah says it’s time to head back.
  • 7 Hearts: “Help” Mailbox request. You’ll need to complete Hazel’s “Town Helper 2” request before you can do this one. Karina has a rush job to complete, and you need to help. You’ll need to head to the apothecary, flower shop and weapon shop, in order, within a single in-game hour.
  • 8 Hearts: “Listen” Mailbox request. Head to the shop and you’ll find that Karina has run away from home. As indicated by her letter, speak to both Raven and Sofia, and you’ll find out that she’s headed to Oddward Valley. Once you speak to her there, she’ll return home with you. Speak to her and choose to take the day off. Now head back to the store.
  • 9 Hearts: “I Need Something” Mailbox request. All you need to do is walk Karina to Privera Forest.
