Rune Factory 3 Special Sakuya Romance Guide

Sakuya is one of the many romance options in Rune Factory 3 Special. Her goal is to one day become an innkeeper, but she currently just runs a trinket shop. Many of her requests involve helping her overcome her fear of tackling monsters for their items so she can finally make her shop a success.

Where Do You Find Sakuya in Rune Factory 3 Special?

As you’d expect, Sakuya can usually be found at her counter at the inn, just next to the diner. If she’s not at the counter, she can sometimes be found in the back room.

Her favorite date spot is the Icy Rosebush in Vale River. She can sometimes be found here if she’s not around town.

What Gifts Do You Give Sakuya in Rune Factory 3 Special?

Sakuya’s shop at the inn trades in unusual items dropped by monsters. Naturally, due to how little she wants to face those monsters, she is grateful for anything you can give her to fix this problem. The best items to give her are those dropped by bosses. This includes the Tanuki Leaf, Dragon Bones, Red/Blue Lion Fur and Broken Ice Wall from the game’s four main bosses. She also loves items dropped by the mini bosses that can be fought on the island in the middle of Privera Forest.

If this is too much work, you can simply make her a Charm in the Workshop. You can also get her some Wooly Furballs if you can bear to attack a Wooly or two in Privera Forest.

How Do You Trigger Heart Events with Sakuya in Rune Factory 3 Special?

  • 1 Heart: “Can I Ask a Quick Favor?” Mailbox request. Sakuya wants a Bamboo Shoot, which is easily obtained at the Sharance Tree during Spring. She will offer you a choice of rewards. “Sweet-smelling” gives you Strawberry Jam, “spicy” gives you Curry Powder and “good smelling” gives you Salmon Sashimi.
  • 2 Hearts: “Another Quick Favor” Mailbox request. She wants you to deliver Heavy Spice to Blaise at the diner and a Tomato to Marjorie at the apothecary. Simply deliver these items then go back to speak to Sakuya.
  • 3 Hearts: “One More Favor” Mailbox request. This one’s a little complicated and will only be possible after defeating the Privera Forest boss. Sakuya wants you to get her a Cheap Cloth from Privera Forest, before Shino intervenes and berates her for relying on you too much. Head to Privera Forest and take the middle route in the first screen to reach the island where Sakuya has headed. You need to throw her a Cheap Cloth but she will only accept it if you’re in monster form. You’ll be warped back to the inn for your reward.
  • 4 Hearts: “Something You Oughta See” Bulletin Board request. Sakuya and Pia want to put on a comedy show for you. After their valiant attempt, go speak to Marian. Get a potion from her then return to the inn. After the scene, transform back into a human then return to the inn again.
  • 5 Hearts: “Need Help Hunting for Something” Bulletin Board request. Sakuya will ask to be taken to Privera Forest. She wants to shave a golden wooly, and guess who has to volunteer. You can resist for a bit, but ultimately you’ll need to accept her request.
  • 6 Hearts: “Wanna Go on a Date?” Mailbox request. Sakuya wants to practice being a tour guide and needs you to be her customer. Take her to any two date spots (Flower Field, Starfall Dune, Rainbow Falls or Icy Rosebush).
  • 7 Hearts: “Gimme the Goods Again” Mailbox request. After a short scene, Sakuya will discover your secret. Now you need to go and speak to her about what happened. Pia and Shino will have an idea where she might have gone, and you’ll learn she might be looking at the ocean. Head to Overlook Pass in Oddward Valley (two screens before the boss fight) and you’ll find her on the cliff.
  • 8 Hearts: “Cooking Lessons” Mailbox request. This request is unavailable until after you’ve held the Amity Fair, so you’ll need to unite the villages first. Sakuya wants to learn how to cook, and now you need an egg. However, Sakuya only wants to use the largest egg possible. Your best bet is raising a Cluckadoodle in your barn, as they will provide Large Eggs from level 30 upwards.
  • 9 Hearts: “A Night at the Inn” Mailbox request. Go and speak to Sakuya in your monster form. You’ll get some story scenes before a customer faints, and Marjorie says she needs a Wooly Furball to help them. These are easily obtained from a Wooly in Privera Forest, if you can bear to attack them.
