Samurai Shodown VI originally debuted in arcades in 2005, before heading to the PlayStation 2 in 2006. It has 45 playable characters, with 37 of them returning from Samurai Shodown I, II, V, and V Special, and Andrew, Iroha, Ocha-Maro Karakuri, and Sugoroku Matsuribayashi making their debut. Eight alternate versions of characters, either in BUST or EX forms, also appear, as well as the mascots Chample, Paku Paku, Poppy, and Shikuru & Mamahaha. This entry had a spirit select system as well, which let you choose different fighting styles for characters. Six fighting styles are immediately available, and Ma, Kemono, and Matsuri can be unlocked as you play.

Samurai Shodown VI will come to the PlayStation 4 in North America on November 22, 2016.
