Square Enix set April 28 as Dragon Quest Monster Joker 2’s Japanese release date.

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 kicks up the volume by gathering over 300 monsters to recruit. The biggest enhancement so far is a full multiplayer mode. Players can battle each other over local wireless or Nintendo Wi-Fi.
Aside from the release date, those details were also mentioned in the V-Jump story. The press release did have something new, though. It mentions Dragon Quest Monster Joker 2 will be able to support between 1-8 players, but didn’t say how. I’m hoping for tournament style battles, but the eight player mode could just be for a mini-game.
