Square Enix shared new details and screenshots going over the characters, Visions, Espers, and locations in Final Fantasy Resonance. Among them is the new “Cid” character for this entry, Lid, and confirmation of five past Final Fantasy heroes who will show up as Visions our allies can equip. There will also be a Colosseum in-game to fight monsters, 12 Legendary Arms weapons to collect after fighting certain special foes, and Mog Tag and jump rope minigames.

The two new characters are representatives from two locations we’ll visit in Final Fantasy Resonance. Lid is one of the candidates and mechanics to possibly take on the mantle of “Cid” in Dilmagia the Machinopolis. She fights in-battle alongside a Mechabo mechanical Chocobo. Ayaka Ohashi voices her in Japanese and Elsie Lovelock in English. The other ally is Nichol from the Olderion Federation. He’s next in line to be a Water Shrine Warden of the Waters. Tsubasa Yonaga plays him in Japanese and Khoi Dao in English. Square Enix also noted that two of the Sworn Six we’ll fight are Veritas of the Heavens and Veritas of the Waters.

As for the new Final Fantasy Resonance Visions and Espers introduced, there’s one entirely original character and eight familiar ones. Aileen is a weaponsmith who can be equipped or who can make weapons with Adamantite after recruiting her. She’s the one original to the story. The returning Esper summons are Ifrit, Shiva, and Titan. Meanwhile, recurring Visions of past Final Fantasy heroes are Cecil from FFIV, Bartz from FFV, Squall from FFVIII, Zidane from FFIX, and Tidus from FFX.

Here are all the latest screenshots Square Enix shared from the game.

There is also a new trailer for Final Fantasy Resonance. It focuses on the new HD-2D pixel art approach for this retelling of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

Final Fantasy Resonance will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 22, 2026.
