Years before George Kamitani founded Vanillaware he worked on Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom, an arcade game developed by Capcom. This belt action game was the source of inspiration for Dragon’s Crown.

Capcom will re-release Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom along with the prequel Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara as a two game bundle called Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystaria. The Elf from Dragons Crown looks like she has the same moves as the Elf from the Dungeons & Dragons arcade games.
