We knew that the third part of the Final Fantasy VII remake would be at gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live with Director Naoki Hamaguchi showing off elements of FFVII Revelation, and now the full trailer is here. The footage highlights gameplay and shows both returning characters and the newly-playable Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind.
Here’s the trailer showing off the dedicated FFVII Revelation segment for gamescom 2026. After a quick character highlight, it begins with Rufus Shinra addressing the people of Midgar, the appearance of Weapons, and Sephiroth summoning the meteor. We then see Ruby Weapon, Emerald Weapon, and Ultimate Weapon, with the team starting to fight all three. Tifa also summons Typhon to attack.
The full gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live presentation is on YouTube, and you can see it below.
If people are at gamescom 2026, they can actually see FFVII Revelation at the Square Enix booth. There will also be an autograph session, with Hamaguchi posting on social media about both it and the show.
Now that we’re about a year away from the FFVII Revelation release, we’re seeing a lot more looks at the game. For example, Square Enix confirmed there will be a panel looking at the title at PAX West 2026 in September 2026. It’s likely we’ll see it at the 2026 Tokyo Game Show as well.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation will come to the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in Spring 2027, and the FFVII Remake and Rebirth entries are available on all four of those platforms now.
