While we’re talking about tennis games Sega is drafting Sumo Digital, the developer of Virtual Tennis 3 for the Xbox 360, to make Sega Superstars Tennis. It’s coming out for the for nearly every system under the sun: the Wii, Playstation 2, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The PSP is the odd console out and only the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 will have online play.

The concept behind Sega Superstars Tennis is fairly self explanatory: it’s tennis with fifteen playable Sega characters, each with their own wacky abilities. AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, Amigo from Samba De Amigo and Ulala from Space Channel 5 are confirmed characters. Oh yeah, Sonic is in this too in his home court, Green Hill Zone. You can’t have a Sega mascot game and leave Sonic out right?

That leaves eleven characters to speculate about. I’m hoping Sega digs deep in their vaults to include oddball characters like Kid Chameleon, Alex Kidd or Nei. Who do you think Sega should add in this and what unique abilities could they have?
