Marvelous And Honey ∞ Parade Games shared the latest on the development of the Senran Kagura series’ newest title Senran Kagura 7even: Girls’ Happiness in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Hachima.]

Here are some highlights from the interview featuring series creator and boobie producer Kenichiro Takaki along with the game’s regular producer Shogo Kazakai:

  • There are a lot of fans that started Senran Kagura with Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus.

  • With work on Senran Kagura Burst’s remake, Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, the developers felt that its story was a lot darker than they remembered.

  • One of the topics brought up during the development of Senran Kagura: Estival Versus was to not make it an easy game where you just mow down enemies. Since Senran Kagura Burst’s high difficulty was originally geared towards gamers, the developers decided to add more challenging action for the remake.

  • Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal’s Shinobi Transformations are all made new from scratch.

  • You’ll get to use most of the accessories that were purchased from Estival Versus.

  • Voicing from the original Burst is being used for the remake. The story parts that were difficult to understand or had inconsistencies were revised as well.

  • As for Senran Kagura 7even, the creators are currently working on putting together a solid idea for the game in its current stage of development. It seems like it’ll be just a little while longer until we get something.

  • Kenichiro Takaki would like to work on a remake for Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson if the opportunity arises, but for now it’s difficult with work on Senran Kagura: 7even.

  • The developers have a lot of ideas for side stories and such, but they’re thinking about letting the main story of the series settle down with Senran Kagura 7even.

  • However, that doesn’t mean the developers are trying to end the series, but they do want to give it a smooth landing for when it eventually happens.

  • Since 2018 reverse is 8102 (also read as “pai-otsu” which is silly slang for boobies) Kenichiro Takaki wants to make 2018 a year of Senran Kagura.

Senran Kagura 7even: Girls’ Happiness is expected to release in Fall 2018 for PlayStation 4. Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal releases in Japan on February 22, 2018 for PlayStation 4.
