Yet another FFVII Ever Crisis character is getting to cosplay as Lightning, and this time it’s the young version of Sephiroth from The First Soldier donning her Knight of Etro costume from FFXIII-2. It’s the latest gear available on a new banner that also features an Overture sword based on the gunblade she wields in that same game. Said banner also includes the Venus Gospel Cid Ultimate Weapon that’s appeared on other banners during this crossover.
As expected, both items for young Sephiroth seem to be pretty powerful pieces of five-star equipment. The Knight of Etro armor looks exactly like the costume Lightning wears in FFXIII-2, and it includes the Boost Water Potency (All Allies) and Knight’s Loyalty water ability damage boosting, HP boosting, and physical ability damage boost with maxed Command Gauge R Abilities tied to it. Meanwhile, Overture has the Smite C Ability tied to it that deals physical water damage to a single enemy, decreases that foe’s physical defense temporarily, and increases his water damage when he receives a buff.
There’s also a piece of FFVII Ever Crisis concept art showing how young Sephiroth looks in his FFXIII-2 Lightning cosplay from different angles and how Square Enix came up with the final costume in-game. You can see that below.
This marks the fifth Final Fantasy XIII costume in FFVII Ever Crisis, as Aerith and Tifa got ones based on Lightning in FFXIII and Cloud and Glenn got ones based on Lightning and Snow, respectively, from Lightning Returns: FFXIII.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available on PCs and mobile devices, and the FFXIII crossover will be in the FFVII spin-off until November 27, 2025.
