Way before FASA Studios decided Shadowrun should be a Counterstrike-like FPS three other Shadowrun games were released for consoles in the 90s. Hardcore Gaming 101 has a detailed look back at the history of Shadowrun games starting with the SNES game where the main character has no memory and the darker Genesis RPG. The Genesis game never reached Japan due to coding issues. Instead Japan got their own Shadowrun game, developed by Complie who is known for the Puyo Puyo series.
