Shin Megami Tensei IV DLC Is For Busy People Who Don’t Have Time To Level Up

image Exchanging money for a time saving shortcut is a growing trend in the mobile games market. Plenty of freemium games have players choose between waiting for an hour for a castle to build or spending a buck to get it right now. Shin Megami Tensei IV is a big game and after my hands-on, I’m pretty sure players will have to spend some time grinding to strengthen Flynn and the demons in his group. The first downloadable content pack had an extra quest that made earning experience points easier.

Shin Megami Tensei IV’s second round of DLC has quests that make earning macca (that’s money in the Megaten universe) and app points easier. App points can be used to unlock abilities for Burroughs, the Cortana-like character in your gauntlet. You can get apps that let you negotiate with demos for macca or items.

The Hell Incident Macca Program (350 yen) sends you on a mission in the underworld. When you talk with the guards in the Styx they will bring you to the town of the dead where you can fight demons that drop items which can be sold for a lot of macca. Atlus specifically says this DLC pack was made for busy people who only have a limited time to play the game. The Hell Incident App Program (350 yen) is a similar challenge quest that lets players fight enemies that drop app point items so you can obtain Burroughs’ abilities faster.

These quests also let you fuse special demons. The App Program quest unlocks Plasma and the Macca Program unlocks Astaroth.

Atlus also has Freedom Armor (200 yen) on sale if you want to dress Flynn up like as a student. Pair this with the Silver Spectacles for a studious look.
