Shining Resonance has a protagonist that can turn into a dragon, along with a band of friends who fight using instrument-themed weapons. 4Gamer shares some new details on the game’s battle system, and the risk of using Yuma’s dragon form in combat.
The battles start when you see a monster on the field and run into it for a battle that starts seamlessly on the same field.
During combat, you play as one of the characters in the party, and use combo attacks to hit enemies. You can also pull off special attacks and magic that are unique to each character.
Dragners are those who fight using magical weapons, used to bring out all kinds of different powers from nature. The above images show some examples with instrument weapons using their wind and fire attribute attacks.
While you’ll only be controlling one character at a time, the NPC-handled party members aren’t too shabby, either. You can give out commands to the other party members, or have them provide support with pinpoint accuracy.
The protagonist, Yuma, has the ability to transform into a powerful dragon in combat. However, after a certain amount of time he can lose control and go berserk, so there’s a risk you’ll take when turning Yuma into a dragon.
Shining Resonance is slated for release in Japan on December 11, 2014 for PlayStation3 .
