The novelization of Silent Hill f will likely add more internal monologue from Hinako about the nightmarish world that Ebisugaoka turned into. It may also provide more insight about her relationship with Rinko and Sakuko. As the game heavily focuses on Hinako’s relationship with Shu, aspects of her friendship with Rinko and Sakuko are left open to interpretation. It’s unknown if the novelization will have an original ending, or if it will follow one of the game’s endings.

Shirou Kuro, the author for the Silent Hill f novel, specializes in writing stories that draw on Cthulhu mythos, urban myths, and folklore. Some of his original works include Human Chairs: A Rampoesque Tale and Mikan Shoujo Lovecraft. He’s also worked on anime and games, such as Yomawari: Lost in the Dark.

Silent Hill f is the latest entry in the long-running Silent Hill series, and it’s one of the few games to take place outside of the eponymous town. Instead, it takes place in Showa-era Japan. It stars Hinako, a high school girl, who has to escape her monster-infested town with her friends. The game came out on September 25, 2025, but it has already sold over a million copies worldwide.

Silent Hill f is readily available on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The novelization will come out on October 30, 2025, and there’s no news yet of an official translation.
