In the announcement tweet, Square Enix says that after working on loading measures and additional developments in parallel, and they apologize about the game’s release of June 6, which is a little later than its late-May window.

It’s also mentioned that June 6 happens to be creative director Yoko Taro’s birthday, which also happens to be “Butsumetsu,” or what’s considered the unluckiest day in the six day cycle as “Buddha’s death.” Now that I think of it, it’s quite fitting for Yoko Taro’s birthday to land on such a day. With over 300,000 pre-registrations, we’re sure plenty of fans will be joining in on the unlucky birthday/launch.

SINoALICE launches in Japan on June 6, 2017 for iPhone and Android. You can check out our previous report for a look at its latest heroine designs and more of Yoko Taro’s shenanigans.
