SINoALICE Releases In Japan On Creative Director Yoko Taro’s Birthday, June 6

Square Enix announced today that their upcoming smartphone game SINoALICE will release in Japan on June 6, 2017.

In the announcement tweet, Square Enix says that after working on loading measures and additional developments in parallel, and they apologize about the game’s release of June 6, which is a little later than its late-May window.

It’s also mentioned that June 6 happens to be creative director Yoko Taro’s birthday, which also happens to be “Butsumetsu,” or what’s considered the unluckiest day in the six day cycle as “Buddha’s death.” Now that I think of it, it’s quite fitting for Yoko Taro’s birthday to land on such a day. With over 300,000 pre-registrations, we’re sure plenty of fans will be joining in on the unlucky birthday/launch.
