It’s time to meet a big buddy, and a Pikachu dressed as said buddy, in Pokemon Cafe Mix. A Snorlax Team Event, which involves players joining teams and trying to hit milestones, will come to the puzzle game on September 24, 2020. When it does, a Snorlax Pikachu bundle will be sold for real money in the in-game shop. Both the Japanese website and in-game announcements went over the activities. [Thanks, Serebii!]
For the Snorlax event, people who have passed order #24 can join a team and then take part in team orders to make Snorlax happy. If you put in enough effort, then everyone on the team recruits the Snorlax. There will also be other rewards to apparently earn along the way.
As part of the Snorlax Team event and to encourage people to at least join a team, there is a recruitment event. Between September 23 and October 8, 2020, there will be special challenge cards with objectives worth 300 Golden Acorns each. People who can manage to join a team and get 20 members on it will get 10,000 Golden Acorns.
Finally, there’s the paid Snorlax Pikachu bundle. It includes the Pikachu in the costume, 13,400 Golden Acorns, and some Helping Paw, Megaphone, Skill Plus, and Whistle Boosters and Puzzle Powers. General prices haven’t been shared, but it will be 1,340円 (~$12) in the Japanese version of the game.
There is also a general update available. Plusle and Minun are now in the game and can be recruited as staff members. Orders 351-400 are also around.
Pokemon Cafe Mix is available on the Nintendo Switch and both Android and Apple iOS devices. The Snorlax Pikachu bundle and Snorlax Team Event will be available until October 8, 2020.
