Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice Footage Focuses On Dashes

In Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, characters will need to use fire and ice powers to proceed through levels. Japan’s latest trailer shows how Sonic will combine his Air Dash and Spin Dash skills with these abilities to swiftly make it through areas while altering the environment.

In the first portion of the Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice video, we see how Sonic can Air Dash upward, freezing possible platforms around him as he does. As he Air Dashes back down, the fire ability lets him melt the platforms he had just created to return to the previous area. In the Spin Dash segment, we see him use a fiery Spin Dash to take out obstacles while he goes, while an icy Spin Dash forms a platform below him to protect him from spikes.

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will come to the Nintendo 3DS in North America on September 27, 2016. It will arrive in Europe on September 30, 2016, Australia on October 1, 2016, and Japan on October 27, 2016.
