More Sonic the Hedgehog toys are on the way. However, these will be focused on his look in a new show. Sega and Jakks Pacific confirmed Sonic Prime toys are in development. There’s a 2023 release window for the merchandise, even though the series is expected to appear on Netflix in 2022.
There is no concept art for any of the items yet. (Which makes sense, as there’s no officially shared concept art for the show itself yet.) Rather, Jakks Pacific and Sega offered summaries of some things to expect. There will be costumes based on characters. People will be able to get action figures and plush toys of main characters. There will also be playsets for these characters.
Netflix and Sega’s upcoming Sonic Prime series is still something of a mystery. Neither company shared new details about it yet. However, more news could come in the near future. The show is expected to launch on the streaming service in 2022. Man of Action Entertainment and Wild Brain Studio are behind the 3D cartoon.
Sonic Prime will show up on Netflix in 2022, and the new Sonic the Hedgehog toys based on it will appear in 2023. While waiting for that to show up, people will be able to see the second Sonic the Hedgehog movie on April 8, 2022.
