Sony really wants Japanese gamers to try Soul Sacrifice. They already released a downloadable demo on PlayStation Network and they’re giving away a physical copy of the demo with PlayStation Vita purchases.
For current Vita owners that loathe logging online, there’s another way to play Soul Sacrifice ahead of its launch. Tsutaya, a retailer that rents DVDs and music CDs, will loan a demo of the game for free. Tsutaya has 550 shops located throughout Japan. The boxed Soul Sacrifice demo is the same demo you can download now with trailers for Gravity Daze, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
What’s interesting about this program is renting games is actually illegal in Japan. Dragon Quest X was a rare exception that players could rent for eight days for free too. Rental service for the Soul Sacrifice demo kicks off on February 6.
