There is going to be a LittleBigPlanet beta! But, only 20,000 people from North America, Europe, and Japan are going to be invited to play with Sackboy before the game gets released in October. Right now Sony is looking for the 60,000 participants. If you are in Japan or want to test your luck with a Japanese PlayStation Network account you can throw your name into the proverbial hat by downloading a beta application ticket from the PlayStation Store before September 23. Winners get to enter the beta test on September 29 and play with LittleBigPlanet’s stage creator until October 16.

At this time we do not know if Sony Computer Entertainment Europe or Sony Computer Entertainment America plans to offer a pass for the beta the same way. A route into the beta should be announced soon though since the participant selection ends next week.
