The next Resident Evil reboot movie debuts in September 2026, and there’s a new trailer to watch that shows us what we can expect. As a reminder, this is a film from Weapons creator Zach Cregger that tells an original story showing what an ordinary person deals with when the Raccoon City outbreak happened.

In this Resident Evil story, a medical courier named Bryan (Austin Abrams) accepts a delivery to Raccoon City General right as he’s finishing another run and his shift ends due to it being “outside the zone” and “paying double.” As he drives into the city, things almost immediately start to go awry. This first trailer shows some of the immediate victims and hazards while also establishing just how quickly that outbreak happened.

As a reminder, this is the second reboot of the Resident Evil movie series to happen within the last five years. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City launched back in November 2021. That retelling involved major characters from the original games like Claire and Chris Redfield, Leon S Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, Lisa Trevor, and William Birkin. That’s currently streaming on Disney+ and Hulu and can also be found on Blu-ray and DVD.

The new Resident Evil movie will appear in the US on September 18, 2026.
