No games or trailers are coming to the PlayStation Store today. Sony is still preparing the revamped PlayStation Store and PS3 firmware 2.3. In addition to a fresh coat of digital paint for Sony’s online marketplace the updated firmware includes support for DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio.

The remodeled PlayStation Store will have new categories for editorial picks and demos/preview videos. Deciding which videos to download should be easier too. The new store gives users sample images of trailers.

Sony really wants PlayStation 3 owners to poke around the revised store and they have a clever campaign to spark browsing. Hidden in the PlayStation Store is an entry to a PlayStation Ticket lottery. Sony Computer Entertainment Japan will award 50 random participants who find the entry page between April 15 (renewal date) and May 12 with a 3,000 yen ($29) PlayStation ticket. Sony Computer Entertainment America or Europe has yet to announce a similar promotion, but you can probably take advantage of SCEJ’s event by firing up a Japanese PlayStation account. If you win you can download some region free PsOne games from their large library of PlayStation Classics.
