Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is another psychedelic re-imagining of Space Invaders. You may have heard of it since Taito released it on cell phones in Japan and the iPhone. Missed the news? Then watch this trailer.
So, why are we bringing up Space Invaders: Infinity Gene now? It appears Square Enix is preparing a port for consoles, handhelds or both.
The OFLC rated Space Invaders: Infinity Gene and has Ubisoft pegged as the publisher. Why Ubisoft? They help Square Enix distribute titles including Space Invaders Extreme 2 in Oceania. Ubisoft is also listed as a “publisher” for some Xbox Live Arcade games like Gyromancer so it’s possible this could be also digital release.
Since Space Invaders: Infinity Gene was designed as a digital release, I’m banking on this being for may be an Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, WiiWare or DSiWare. More news at E3?
