Splatoon 2’s McDonald’s Japanese Splatfest Collaboration Puts French Fries Against McNuggets

North America and Europe got to enjoy Splatoon 2’s latest Splatfest event this weekend, but Japan is having a special something in collaboration with McDonald’s.

According to a tweet from the Japanese Splatoon 2 Twitter account, the latest Splatfest in Japan will be a collaboration with McDonald’s Japan. This time, players will have to decide if they’ll want to represent Team French Fries or go with Team Chicken McNuggets.

This isn’t the first time Splatoon gets a non-gaming collaboration for Splatfest, as the original Splatoon on Wii U had one for Transformers that pit Team Autobots against Team Decepticons in North America. There was also one for the Japanese chocolate snacks with the Mushroom Mountain vs. Bamboo Shoot Village as well.

The upcoming collaboration Splatfest with McDonald’s Japan will begin on September 9 at 3:00pm JST and ends on September 10 at 3:00pm JST.

Splatoon 2 is available for the Nintendo Switch.
