Fresh Season marks Splatoon 3’s third season since its launch, following Drizzle Season, which ran from September to November 2022. Chill Season, which is the current season, began in December 2022. Each season brings a new catalog of items, including poses, Tableturf Battle cards, titles and gear.

While full details on the new catalog rewards have yet to be revealed, Nintendo previewed some of the new gear in the images released today. This includes a few items with a camo design, including a cap, a hoodie, and some headphones.

New weapons arriving with Fresh Season include the Krak-On Splat Roller and the .96 Gal Deco, which are both new variants of previous roller and blaster models. However, they both come equipped with a returning special – the Kraken Royale. This special, returning for the first time since the first Splatoon, sees the player turn into a giant invincible squid who can charge through opponents.

The start of Fresh Season will immediately follow the release of the Inkopolis DLC, which was also recently confirmed.

Splatoon 3 is out now for Nintendo Switch and Fresh Season begins March 1, 2023.
