Splatoon 3 x Pokemon Splatfest To Test Type Supremacy

Splatoon 3 x Pokémon

Nintendo is combining the clout of two of its most powerful brands for the next Splatfest. The Splatoon 3 x Pokemon Splatfest will pit Splatoon players against each other in a three-way conflict. The question at heart: Which of the three starting Pokemon types is the best? For North America, the Splatfest is scheduled for November 11-13, 2022.

Since the first Pokemon games launched in 1998 (or 1996), players have been given a choice of three types for their starter: Grass, Fire, or Water. Now, the Splatoon 3 x Pokemon Splatfest will put the choice to Splatoon players, having them choose to join Team Grass, Team Fire, or Team Water. Each team is aligned with a member of Deep Cut, the Splatcast hosts.

As with other Splatfests, players will choose their team ahead of time. When the event kicks off, all Turf War matches will be held between the different teams. At the halfway point, Tricolor Turf War is activated. During Tricolor matches, the leading team will take on both of the other teams simultaneously. At the end of the event, the winning team is determined, and its members are awarded Super Sea Snails. The Snails can be used to add stars and sub ability slots to gear.

Though the Splatoon 3 x Pokemon Splatfest is set for November,  it may not arrive before Nintendo implements some planned changes to Splatfests. In a statement from September, Nintendo said it was working to address complaints raised about the quality of matchmaking, particularly for Tricolor Battles. Many players would select Tricolor but be placed into a standard Turf War. Nintendo said it intended to implement the adjustments with the next season, beginning in December 2022.

Splatoon 3 is readily available on the Nintendo Switch. The Splatoon 3 x Pokemon Splatfest is scheduled for November 11, 2022, at 4:00 PM PT through November 13, 2022, at 4:00 PM PT.
