Square-Enix cracks down on the gil trade

In many MMORPG games players are concerned about selling virtual currency for cash. Square-Enix has taken another stand against this kind of exchange in Final Fantasy XI. Recently 250 accounts were closed and billions of gil, the virtual currency in Van’diel, was seized. These accounts practiced RMT (real money trade) in a large scale and some accounts used “illicit practices” to obtain virtual wealth.
